I’m engaged in music because I like it (obviously) and am interested in the idea of mastery. Sort of like working at a video game to advance and get to the end. If I work at this, how far can I go?

I had a number of reasonable excuses in the past. But now not so much. Mostly my capacity to work at it.

Like my brother artist Chris ( ccjsax.com), I too was born in North Dakota. Became the lead in my senior high school musical (” Preppies” ever heard of it?). I went to the University of North Dakota for a major in Chemistry and a minor of music. Went to California for graduate school and stayed.

I enjoy fruit, coffee, and taking naps. The last two don’t seem to interfere much. My tolerance for caffeine is pretty high.

I like James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, They Might Be Giants,Tom Lehrer, The Smiths.
